Fra papir til digitalisering
The Master of Nursing program at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, with specializations in Anaesthesia, Paediatric, Intensive, Cancer, and Operating Room Nursing (ABIKO), has recently undergone a comprehensive revision. This work aligns with new national regulations that define the expected final competencies for each specialization and establish a national minimum standard for competence (Ministry of Education, n.d.).
As part of this revision, both theoretical and clinical components of the study programs have been reviewed and updated. In revising the clinical practice modules, our goal was to strengthen the structure and make it easier for clinical supervisors and academic staff to assess and guide nursing students during their placements.
We also aimed to give students a more active and independent role in evaluating their own progress, helping them reflect on their development and goal achievement in practice. To support this, we introduced the digital assessment tool AssCE (Assessment of Clinical Education) – moving from traditional paper-based evaluations to a more structured and transparent digital system.
